Last Updated: August 24, 2026
At Smart PDF ("we", "our", or "us"), we are committed to protecting the privacy and security of our users. This Privacy Policy outlines what information we collect, how it is used, and how you can manage your data.
1. Information We Collect
- Account Information (Optional): When you create an account to enable Cloud Backup & Sync, we collect your email address and authentication credentials securely via Firebase Authentication. Account creation is optional; you can use core tools without an account.
- Documents & Files: Core PDF conversion, scanning, and OCR operations are processed directly on your device. If you use the optional Cloud Backup feature, your selected documents and metadata are securely stored in our cloud infrastructure (Google Firebase) linked strictly to your account.
- Device Identifiers & Advertising: We display ads via Google AdMob, which may collect advertising IDs and device diagnostics in accordance with Google Play Developer Policies.
2. How We Use Information
- To manage user accounts and enable document synchronization across devices.
- To provide on-device and cloud document utilities.
- To display relevant ads and analyze app stability.
- To provide customer support and process feedback.
3. Third-Party Services
We work with industry-standard, certified Google services:
- Google Firebase: For secure authentication, database sync, and cloud backup.
- Google AdMob: For serving non-intrusive advertisements.
4. Data Security
All data transferred between the app and cloud servers is encrypted in transit using industry-standard TLS/HTTPS protocols. We do not sell or rent user data to any third party.
5. User Rights & Account/Data Deletion
Users have full control over their data:
- You can delete your account and all associated cloud backups at any time directly within the app (Settings > Account > Delete Account).
